GRANT GUIDELINES
Who We Fund
We provide grants to non-profit organizations qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Grants are awarded to support general operations and program related activities. Grant proposals with a focus on the following areas are of special interest: (1) prevention of cruelty to animals or children; (2) animal welfare education; (3) conservation and protection of wildlife and ecosystems; (4) anti-poaching and prevention of illegal trafficking; and (5) emergency response and disaster relief.
Our grants typically range from $500 to $2,500.
In general, we do not fund (1) individuals, (2) debt reduction, (3) academic related research, (4) event sponsorships, or (5) endowments.
Grantmaking Process
1. Submit a Letter of Inquiry via email to GomezNearFoundation@gmail.com. The LOI should provide detailed information about your 501(c)(3) organization, proposal need, and overall alignment with our goals. We review all LOIs on a rolling basis. We respond to all LOIs within 90 days.
2. Submit a proposal (this step is by invitation only)
Following review of your LOI, we will contact you if you have been selected to submit an application.
3. Application review and response
The Board will review all applications on a rolling basis. We will provide response on your application within 90 days. Grant reporting requirements are determined by grant amount. Requirements will be outlined in award notification letters.
